One name since 2004

Before the casino, the site at 8811 River Road in Richmond held the Bridgepoint Market. River Rock Casino Resort was built on that ground.

June 25, 2004: first opened to the public as River Rock Casino Resort. No rename has followed since. The line of names on this page is a single entry. River Rock is one of three casinos in this guide that kept their names, alongside Cascades Casino Delta and Cascades Casino Langley.

On June 16, 2026, the owners changed and the name stayed. Anyone searching for an older River Rock name will come up empty: there never was one.

Who owns it

June 16, 2026: River Rock Casino Resort passed to a partnership of two companies. Petroglyph Development Group, the first, is a Snuneymuxw First Nation company. Musqueam Capital Corp, the second, belongs to the Musqueam Indian Band. Great Canadian Entertainment was the seller.

Owners here are given as of October 7 and 8, 2026, in the words of the sale announcements. Host municipalities typically receive 10% of the net gaming income of the casinos they host.

Getting in

Only adults aged 19 or over may enter, and each visitor presents government-issued photo ID on arrival. That ID is checked against the self-exclusion list. Craps is played every day, 11 AM to 2 AM. Each day at 9 AM the racebook opens, closing once the last race is run.

Hotel check-in follows a 19+ rule. River Rock publishes no self-parking price for casino visitors, and overnight valet is $33 a night. Bridgeport Station on the SkyTrain is 153 m away in a straight line, not a walking route. Its Bay 10 bus stop, served by routes 352 and 354, is 135 m away.
